Development of Accredited Imam Training

In conjuction with a UK universitity, the Luqman Institute is working to develop specilised accredited Imam training courses which primerly aims to

To equip the students with the necessary tools of knowledge and training through capacity building programmes.
To empower the Imams to tackle stereotypes within their communities and beyond by raising key questions through an objectivity and neutrality.
To instigate reflective research on Qur'anic texts in relation to developing profound levels of understanding and in relating this understanding to contemporary issues.

The Luqman Institute acknowledges the huge role on the part of Imams in guiding their communities to adopt a ground of neutrality and thus weigh up personal loyalties with core principles derived from scripture. In doing so, it would pave the way for the Muslim communities to objectively relate to wider societal values and hence engage on issues of common concern.
