In 2001, Sheikh Musa became the first Imam to be officially appointed to Higher Education at the London Metropolitan University. He has since enriched students and academics alike with his insight and understanding of diverse issues affecting minority religio-ethnic communities in the UK.
He has over 15 years of experience as a grassroots Imam and continues to impart great commitment to community service and development. Sheikh Musa's approach has always been to engage with people of all thoughts, colours and backgrounds. He has a track record of being a vocal critic of compromising world-views unsupported by the scripture and detached from the spirit of Islam.
The Sheikh formally established the Luqman Institute of Education and development in 2003. The Institute's primarily role is to address the challenges facing Muslim communities in the West and promote greater civic participation and social harmony. The Institute works tirelessly in engaging Muslim communities, wider society and the institutions on the issues that affect us all as citizens.
Sheikh Musa has participated in Madrid Seminar (2006 - building successful communities), Paris Three Faiths Forum (2005), Peace Research Institute (Oslo 2005) and the Forum Barcelona (2004) to name a few. He's contribution at the international level has been towards promoting durable peace and encouraging Muslims to work in partnerships with international Institutions. All those concerned have come to learn the need for people of different faiths and no faith to come together and tackle international concerns that are paramount to wellbeing of society at large.
The Sheikh lectures extensively on Islam's role in the West, loyalty to one's country, citizenship, distortion of Jihaad as acts of terror and many other contemporary issues.
