In 2001, North London University, in agreement with Luqman Institute guidelines had been supported by the creation of the first University Imam in Higher Education in the UK. Working via an established chaplaincy and providing support to Muslim students, the Imam supports the University's collective interests to address particular problems on campus.

Indo Pakistan Cultural Centre, notably respected in the London Borough of Islington for their community work, shares many of the ideologies of the Institution, also works very closely to promote harmony between the various ethnic communities residing in and around the borough.

At the level interfaith dialogue, Three Faiths Forum, Finsbury Park Faith Forum and St Ethelburga's to name a few have worked together with the institution to promote an understanding of each others scriptural perspective on issues of common concerns and differences.

The Institutes members have had the opportunity to participate in projects with the Foreign Office (Engaging Islam Program), The Home Office (Cohesion and Faith Unit), The MOD, the UK Defence Academy as well as participating in meetings in Parliament to build understanding and awareness of Issues affecting the Muslim communities in the UK.

The Institute members have participated in the Paris Three Faiths Forum, Barcelona Forum and the Peace and Reconciliation Institute of Oslo, working together to promote peace and assessing the possibility of Muslims working in partnerships with international institutions. All those concerned have come to learn the need for different faiths to come together and tackle international concerns and differences affecting Muslims and other faiths.

Luqman Institute by way of partnership has come to recognise that peace and security can frequently be entertained by teamwork and not isolation. To attain ones own national security it is imperative to take an active interest in the neighbouring country's / community's security.

In the efforts of increasing communication between the institutions and Muslim communities, the Institute with support from London Metropolitan University in 2005 organised an audience for a senior British general on his return from Iraq to engage with young Muslims on campus and share his experiences and engage in constructive dialogue on the issues of the Iraq war. The Institute is pioneering further programs in other Universities through its University Programme and at local community levels

Today, the Institute's work is increasingly being recognised both nationally and internationally.
